Swedish Café Fika To Open At Stonehenge Partners’ 555 Sixth Ave. on November 14

November 14th, 2014Stonehenge Partners – a fully-integrated owner, operator and developer of premier residential and commercial real estate – has announced that FIKA, the famed Swedish espresso and chocolate bar, will celebrate the grand opening of its 1,300-square-foot space at 555 Sixth Ave. on Friday, November 14.

Today, there are ten FIKA cafés throughout New York, and the company plans to open an additional ten locations including a FIKA Tower(headquarters – 824 10th Ave.) on November 24th, which will house a café, an open bakery, catering kitchen, event space and coffee training facility. Another key location includes a corner space in the World Trade Center, near the National September 11 Memorial & Museum by 2015. FIKA sets itself apart from other cafés and chains in New York by offering Scandinavian-style fresh, locally made foods and premium coffee. All FIKA offerings are made on premises by hand with local ingredients when possible, always according to Swedish culinary traditions.

Every comestible detail is overseen by Founder and CEO Lars Åkerlund who takes pride in his long-standing relationships with U.S suppliers to ensure the "made in the U.S.A" label on FIKA's product packaging. Designed and built by Stonehenge as a companion to its adjacent high-end rental building at 101 West 15th Street, 555 Sixth Avenue is a newly constructed 19,000-square-foot retail gallery that features an all glass, 200-foot long storefront on Sixth Avenue and spans from West 15th to West 16th streets.

Andrew Mandell, Richard Skulnik and Jason Maurer of Ripco Real Estate represented Stonehenge Partners in the deal and are marketing the remaining spaces at 555 Sixth Ave., which is expected to attract flagship-quality retail.
