General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) is expanding program to serve residents of Ritz-Plaza

May 16th, 2017 – General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) announced that, it is expanding a program that began in 2015 to serve residents of The Ritz Plaza high-rise in Midtown. The expanded service, called Maven, makes 80 vehicles available at 25 locations, from Columbia University down to Battery Park, and plans to begin a steady expansion. A location also will soon open at East Hampton airport.

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) shares gained 0.59% to $33.82 on Monday.

Maven’s model is similar to Zipcar’s, offering attendant-free car rentals that begin and end at the same spot, which is likely to be a garage or a parking lot. However, Maven, which has now rolled out in 17 markets around the country, offers only GM cars, from the Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback up to the Cadillac Escalade SUV. All come decked out with technological bells and whistles, like 4G LTE Wi-Fi and Apple CarPlay. Users book, pay for, open and start the cars through an app on their phone.
