Tell Us About This Year's Volunteer Opportunity This year on November 28th, we are on track to prepare and deliver meals to over 3,500 people and are very much in need of volunteers on Thanksgiving morning with their own vehicle that can make meal deliveries to our clients’ homes. You’ll be done by noon - right in time for your feast and football! It’s a great way to spend the holiday, get your family/children involved and start a new tradition!

How Long Has God’s Love Been Hosting This Thanksgiving Tradition?

Thanksgiving is a very special holiday at God’s Love and a tradition for many NYC families, with clients receiving a traditional holiday feast with all the trimmings, a Thanksgiving gift basket and extra guest meals so no one has to eat alone. We have been celebrating Thanksgiving deliveries for over 25 years.

What Do You Need People To Do The Most?

We really need Volunteer Drivers to assist with the delivering of Thanksgiving meals to our clients in all 5 boroughs. How Can People Help If They Are Away for the Holiday Season? We know the holidays are busy and we hope that everyone has a really wonderful holiday season! There are many ways to help and support God’s Love, even from a remote location. Have you sent your holiday cards yet? Stop by our website and peruse our holiday tribute cards… every card bought helps support our work. You can also shop our holiday catalog which has some exceptionally cool gifts including a Joan Rivers scarf (check out that gold!) and our brownies, made famous by our baker, Chuck. Finally, one of the most helpful things someone can do this holiday season, is support our festivities by sponsoring a holiday meals. During the holidays, a lot of our clients are home by themselves, so we cook and deliver a special holiday meal in November, and again in December. It’s a huge community effort—and if you have joined us in the past, you already know how special this is. It’s a great tradition that honors the season, and you can join us by sponsoring one or more holiday meals for $10 each. We hope you “Celebrate with a Plate” with us this holiday season!

Tell Us About Your Temp Location in Brooklyn!

Because of our record growth and our need for an expanded building, we have temporarily relocated to 630 Flushing Avenue, in Brooklyn while we renovate and expand our SoHo home. The temporary move has allowed our services to continue uninterrupted during the construction process, and ultimately allow those services to increase citywide as we double our size and reach. The God's Love expansion comes as demand for the organization's services is up by more than 60% in five years. Without a significant increase in space in the immediate future, God's Love would – for the first time in the organization's 28 years – be forced to have a waiting list for clients, the city's most vulnerable people. Everyone is able to access the facility and visit us by using the G, J and M trains and 43, 46, 47, 15, 54 and 4 buses. We’re keeping everyone updated on what we’re doing via our social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr – please check us out! Residents and friends are invited to show their Love this holiday season. We hope to see you volunteering with us!
