March has arrived and New York City is ready for spring! Celebrate the change of seasons by breathing in the fresh air and exploring your wonderful city. Car shows, book festivals, and art fairs galore await you! 5 Borough Brew Challenge: There’s nothing New Yorkers love more than beer and every borough has its share of wonderful brews. Spend the first half of the month hopping between boroughs to try the best that each has to offer! (March 1st, 8th, and 15th) Flamenco Festival: Forget about Tango and embrace the art of Flamenco dancing at the Flamenco Festival. You’ll watched talented performers, learn a few of the steps, and discover the rich history of Flamenco in NYC. (March 2nd-11th) Tibet House Benefit Concert: Want to check out some amazing music for a great cause? Tibet House is putting on their annual benefit concert at Carnegie Hall. You’ll revel in the tunes of Philip Glass, Carly Simon and countless more talented artists. (March 3rd) Whiskey Walk: Consider yourself something of a whiskey connoisseur? Spend your Saturday strolling through the city and tasting some of the finest Irish whiskies. We can’t think of a more relaxing way to spend the day. (March 3rd) Queens Saint Patrick’s Day Parade: Can’t wait for Saint Patty's day? Celebrate it a little early by heading to Queens! There’ll be music, dancing, great food, and probably a couple of drinks too! (March 3rd) NYC Drone Film Festival: Drones are getting smaller, smarter and more advanced. One day, they may take over the world. For now, they’re just really handy filmmaking tools. Check out the coolest drone footage around at this unique festival. (March 3rd and 4th) Sumo and Sushi: You don’t have to live in Japan to eat sushi, and now you don’t even have to live there to enjoy sumo wrestling! This awesome event is your chance to see an ancient and fascinating sport up close and personal. Oh--and there’s sushi while you watch! (March 3rd and 4th) The Orchid Show: Spring is almost here; new flowers will soon be blooming. Get a jump on those positive vibes at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Orchid Show. You’ll never find a more impressive arrangement of flowers! (Starts March 3rd) BNP Paribas Showdown: When was the last time you enjoyed a really great tennis match? Head to Madison Square Garden to watch the world’s very best tennis stars duke it out on the court. (March 6th) Paul Taylor’s American Modern Dance: There have been some breathtaking innovations in the world of modern dance and Paul Taylor has been at the forefront. His spectacular new show launches at Lincoln Center this month. Grab your tickets before they’re gone. (March 7th-25th) Antiquarian Book Fair: For some, the draw of leather and paper far outweighs the convenience of an e-reader. For book purists, there’s the Antiquarian Book Fair where you’ll discover tomes and manuscripts from ancient times. Time to build that impressive library. (March 8th-11th) The Armory Art Show: Think you’ve seen all the art in New York City? Think again. The Armory Show brings together the very best works from top galleries across the globe in one unforgettable art experience. (March 8th-11th) Rendez-Vous with French Cinema: Monochromatic cinematography, moody voiceover, and lots of subtitles await you at this celebration of French cinema. From emerging talents to established masters of film, there’s a lot to love about this film festival. (March 8th-18th) New York Carnaval 2018: Neguinho da Beija-Flor: Authentic Brazilian Samba music comes to the big apple at this groundbreaking musical event. Neguinho da Beija-Flor is the absolute tops when it comes to Samba, so you won’t want to miss this dance party. (March 9th) Coffee and Tea Festival: This city just wouldn’t function if we didn’t have our caffeine. Take your appreciation of dark, delicious beverage to the next level. Meet the minds behind some of the best brews on earth and taste some legendary drinks. (March 10th-11th) New York Saint Patrick’s Day Parade: There’s a heck of a lot of Irish history in New York City, and the NYC Patty’s Parade proves it. This is the largest and oldest celebration of Irish pride in the entire country. Why would you even think about missing this one? (March 17th) Sober Saint Patrick’s Day: Love Irish culture but can’t get down with the drinking? Worry not! Celebrate the impending start of summer as the iconic department store is transformed into a flowery dreamland.
