Those days when you can’t quite muster up the motivation to go to the gym. This is everything you need for an in-home workout--NYC style. Exercise Mat: Whether you’re doing crunches, yoga, or Pilates it’s always helpful to have something betwixt your body and the floor. Unless you’ve got a super plush rug or bones of steel, you’ll absolutely need to get a basic fitness mat. They’re easy to clean, durable, and most of them come with a handy strap for carrying as well. With these stretchy cables, you’ll be able to do a surprisingly varied selection of workouts. You really can get a full body workout just with resistance bands. They may not have the heft of dumbbells, but they’re incredibly versatile. You can find about a million different workouts on Youtube, and they’re super affordable. It’s easy to focus on one muscle group or to tackle your entire body. Resistance bands are also the perfect solution for on-the-go-fitness. When you’re on vacation or a dreaded work trip, you can toss these puppies in your suitcase and have a workout no matter where you wind up. Sure, they seem a little weird at first glance, but they're actually essential home workout gear--particularly when you’re trying to tone and strengthen your core. These discs come with opposing sides, which means they have full functionality on hard floors or carpeting. It only takes seconds to set them up for a core-strengthening sliding lunge or an ab blasting mountain climber workout. Even better, almost all sliding disc workouts are low impact. Like resistance bands, they’re also super portable. Even constant travel won’t get in the way of an incredible workout and if you do make it to the gym, you can bring them along in a snap. shutterstock_141531838 Workout Ball: For most of us, our experiences with workout balls involve goofing around and bouncing these bad boys off our friends heads. We get it--they’re loads of fun, as anything this large and bouncy should be, but they’re also incredibly effective when used properly. Workout balls are great for developing your core strength while stretching out tight muscles. You can even buy them in a variety of sizes for a wider range of workout options. When you first start working out with one of these balls, it might feel a little unstable. Some people worry they might even pop, but you really shouldn’t. It’s a great way to increase-blood flow, enhance flexibility and to relax sore muscles.  If you’re a fan of yoga, you’re no doubt familiar with yoga blocks. If you’ve only dabbled, you’ve probably wondered what the purpose of these foam yoga blocks even is? Adding ankle weights to any of your regular home workouts is a great way to get more bang for your buck. These handy little weights quickly and easily strap onto your ankles and increase the difficulty of your workout. It’s surprising how much more intense a workout gets when you add just five pounds to it!
