If you’ve been single, dating, and quarantining this year, then you know how hard it is to have a good date. How do you go out with someone when you have to stay six feet away? It’s tricky, but Stonehenge NYC is here to help.

These are 10 fantastic socially distanced date ideas. Next time you feel like meeting up with that special someone, why don't you…

Give Them An Apartment Tour:

We here at Stonehenge NYC are in the real estate business, so apartment tours are part of our everyday lives. Show your date how cool your apartment is by taking them on a video tour of your home. Show them your views, introduce them to your cat, show off your book collection. Just be sure to clean your apartment first!

Netflix Together:

Look, you don’t have to be in the same room as someone to watch a movie or a TV show together. Thanks to Zoom and apps like Netflix Party, you can watch anything on Netflix together, while safely keeping your distance. There’s a reason that dinner and a movie is a classic date idea. It’s the perfect way to share your favorite show or movie with your new potential significant other.

Dine Together:

Speaking of dinner and a movie--just because you aren’t in the same room doesn’t mean you can’t cook together. Pick a recipe, get your date on your webcam, and figure out the recipe together. Make a pizza, grill a steak, or cook some pasta. It’s the perfect activity to encourage a little banter and flirtation. Don’t feel like cooking? Order something and eat together while you chat.

A Phone Call:

Back before Zoom, Skype, and FaceTime, all we had was the phone. This voice-only medium offers a more relaxed conversation opportunity than a Zoom call while being way more intimate than texting. There’s no need to dress up or try to impress. Simply kick back and enjoy the conversation. If you don’t hit it off, it’s super easy to disconnect too.

Mix a Cocktail:

Dates often go a tad more smoothly when a drink or two is involved. Sign up for a virtual cocktail class, or simply offer to teach your date how to mix your favorite beverage. You don’t have to be in the same room to mix a drink with your partner. Simply walk them through all the steps and enjoy the experience!

Game Together:

These days, it’s not unusual for adults to play video games, and thanks to the internet, you can play most games with a friend. If you and your date are into gaming, why not invite them to join you in the virtual world? It’s a casual and fun way to chat, compete, and enjoy each other’s company.

Start a Book Club:

Do you and your date both love to read? Pick a book to read together. Use the story as a starting point for conversation. Talk about books you love (and maybe ones you don’t love). See where your interests connect and diverge. If you’re a reader, you’ll find this a great way to break the ice.

Outdoor Dining:

New York’s outdoor dining scene has been open for a while now. We think you’ll find that most restaurants offer a solid, socially distanced environment to enjoy food and drinks. It’s the classic date, but the weather is also getting colder. So if you haven’t hit up your favorite restaurant with your boo, now is the time!

Picnic in the Park:

New York City is full of beautiful parks. If you really want to spend time with someone, why not do it in one of our great parks? The scenery isn’t the only benefit. It’s easy to socially distance in a park, so you can both easily keep your distance until you’re both feeling safe enough to get get a little closer.

Hit the Beaches:

The beach is a similarly sublime place for a socially distanced date. New York’s beaches have reopened, which means you and your date could simply go for a swim and do some sunbathing. You’ll breathe the fresh air, get some exercise, and get to know your partner.
